I love John McBain - I love him in Port Charles, hope this means he will stay away from Natalie, wish I could figure out why I so do not like them together. Maybe why I wanted Lucky with Chevon (spelling?) - Jason with Sam, Carly with Shaun (who has completely disappeared).
I hope they can save General Hospital... I know you can't please all of us, and even if my favs, fall in love with others, I have adjusted over the years - and continued to watch GH - no matter who loves who, or who comes back from the dead - or is not really dead - wish they would say Cassandra is still alive, and that was just part of the Ethan con ---- and so happy Robin is stuck locked away some where by someone who wants to get back at Anna or Robert - or something - they just snuck her out the back door of the lab - we all know this could happen. Hell, remember in All my Children with Jesse - they even had a whole plot where he played a ghost and heck he came back to life.... Love Soap Operas. for real

New Start - or Retired Artist WIP
Heaven and Earth Designs - 5th Weekend of the Month SAL - Choices, Choices.......
Love my Unspoken /Julie Fain, it is only background, and it would be a good project to take with me to the Seminar while I take care of Jazarah while Theresa is working. The whole page has only like three color changes - so it would be very easy to do while watching my grandbaby.....
But a new start - my goodness, I know if I spend too many weeks doing different projects, I will never complete my 2012 goals - and I have so many new start wishes, I know I would pick one, that does have a start point with few color changes, so I could easily keep my place, and not mess up while keeping Jazarah, happy - she is only 4 months old, so she will be very easy to watch... I have a few new starts put aside - so I will see - have to decide my tomorrow, as I am leaving Thursday -
I also struggle with so many other unfinished projects, and so many are not HAED, and I still want to do finish those. I just don't know - I really do want to finish something in 2012.

Hunger Games
5 Stars.... It was so good, I thought, and I have not read the books, but now I will. My granddaughter who is 13, said she thought it was better than Twilight - she has not read Hunger Games either, but after watching movie, she would like to - Anything that gets a kid to read, has to be 5 stars. Loved Woody Harrelson - awesome, Lenny Kravitz - so hot

Sunday Morning
So here it is the last Sunday in March and it is rainy and dark. Sort of the mood, with SU losing I need something to cheer me up. I am going to spend this morning stitching on my HAED SAL, Fairy Foal Hatching (Themed weekend Spring) watching this weeks General Hospital (American Soap Opera) on Hulu.com. Plans for this afternoon - take my granddaughter to see Hunger Games for her birthday. Will let you know how that all goes this evening.
Love you 'Cuse - been a fan for 40 years, and you guys have to be one of my top 3 teams.
Love you HAED. No beads, no fractional stitches, no backstitching.
Love you Sunday mornings, my alone time, my faith, my needle, its an amazing thing

Heaven and Earth SAL - Themed
So the theme this week is Spring, so I am going to join in - even though this project is not one of my 2012 goals, it has so many colors and my goals for this year are all blues, dark colors, or b&w so I really do want a change.
Artist Sarah Pauline. The reason I love this chart, is beacause it represents my two youngest daughters - Heather loves horses, Brittney butterflies - they are 15 months apart and you would think they were twins. This is on 22 ct white - I hope I will make some progress. It will be a busy weekend, girls night tomorrow (4 of my daughters will be joining me for movies and dinner, and gossip) then Saturday my Granddaughter Anadia is in a play, and grandson Malik has a basketball tournament. I hope of course also SU wins tonight and they are playing on Saturday too. Fingers crossed.

Million Dollar Baby Movie Review
Million Dollar Baby
So this was a re-watch. I have seen this before, and I love this movie. I love Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman. I love this story. It inspires me to take more chances, define who I am, what I want, and am I really working towards those things, do I even know who I am? Have I ever had any dream and put so much time and energy towards it, to make it come true, or do I spend all my time wishing on a star.... If you haven't watched this movie, do. Hilary Swank was amazing and I think her prep for this movie had to be crazy.
Positive Encouragement Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly through them. - Orison Sweet Marden

Book Review - Granny Apples

Downloaded for free to my Nook - it is now not free, but the week I downloaded it was. This gets a 3.7 - so I guess when I do the review I will give it a 4. Do not read this if you do not believe in Ghosts. That is key - and I do, so I could get it. It was once again a fun read, and easy and only 216 pages. Cute Mystery - not too many twists, some parts predicatable. But good entry into a series. Will read the next book in this series. But have not decided what direction I am going. As I do want to read (or reread) at least three classics this year also

And the Sale has been Extended
And Vanity is now a Mini - which means, I will purchase that before the end of the sale. And that is the truth. I have the full size and I will never do it - I have to have this mini. When am I ever going to stop saying I have to have.
Also - Fitness News
I tried on my Fat Pants today and they are tight- I have a doctors appt on Wednesday and I afraid to step on the scale. How can a Weight Watchers Life Time Member, former leader, do this - get so off track to gain I bet no less than 15 pounds above goal - from Thanksgiving to now. I am so sad, very upset, with me because I am starting to think I will never learn.
Someone knock me over the head. Gotta get back on track.
Family News
Heather and Brittney back from New Orleans - have not talked with them yet - Theresa back from Jamacia and after spending a week with Huntleys people, she has learned so much. And I know she has a much better appreciation of Huntley, his culture, the way his family continues to live, and how her life growing up was nothing compared to Huntley's and how blessed she is to be an American.

Cross Stitch Weekly Update
So this week has ended and here is a new picture of Heaven and Earth Designs QS Tomboy. After reviewing this chart - it is small, well small as far as HAED goes - it is a QS and I only have one almost full and two half pages to go to complete. Seriously!!!!! So I have set my heart on completing this and I know I may not finish it this year, and I know if I do, I will not complete my other 2012 goals because all my time will be with her - but isn't she one of the reasons I feel in love with HAED - Yes she is. And the love of HAED has brought me so many places - so I am going to work on her again this upcoming week.. The HAED SAL for the week - week 3 is the detail/confetti week - she has little of it, she is a b/w with only about 18 colors and there is not nearly as much confetti here - I could not say I was doing a weeks worth of it for sure straight - so I am just going to continue to work on her - and I hope at the end of next week I can have finished this page - it is over 1000 stitches. I have set a new goal for myself and that is 1000 stitches a week - that is lets say 10 hours a week. That can fit into my schedule I am sure.
To the Irish
Hats off, and toasts to the Irish Americans (especially those who live in Syracuse New York) who have relished their culture, their history to such an extent that it has become a Grand Event each year. This year we are especially lucky as St. Patricks Day falls on a Saturday - so the Parade will be on the same day. And it is suppose to be clear and warm. Green Beer at Colemans. Missing you Dad, Mr. Sloan, and all the Gulf Line Road Family. I am Scottish/English - but tomorrow I will celebrate with those who are Irish, because to remember and celebrate our roots is a grand thing

Safe at Home - Excellent Read
Safe at Home - Great American Read - Baseball, but more - read my full review on my 2012 goals page, I have given this 5 stars, this story was one I knew - but wish I could say it was totally fiction - but oh so ever true. I did get this for free, not sure if it still his at Barnes and Noble - but it was free download for my Nook.

Eleven Minute Mile
Just an update on my fitness goal - more details under my page. But I am ready now and started running outdoors with Dakota - my goal before the Neighborhood Runs (Syracuse New York) start is to be lose 10 pounds (a better running weight for me) and to run a 3 - 5 mile race with an 11 minute mile. I am so excited I have defined my first fitness goal for the year
Heaven and Earth Designs Update
So there is a St Patricks Day Sale - from now until 3/19. 25% off. So of course I will be purchasing some items. Now I have sent in a request today for two minis both Dona Gelsinger Golden Gate and Sugar and Spice. I have wanted these two charts forever, and after purchasing some very large charts, I know I will never do, I decided I had to cut down my purchases also. I own over 200 charts, and that is ridiculous, when you think I still have dones of my other favorites - Stoney Creek, for one - Mirabilia for another - and Sue Hillis and Bobbie G. Just to name a few, I often do need a break from Heaven and Earth, and there are several WIPs I have from others. I will try to get some pictures on line the next rainy Saturday.
Anyway back to sale - I know for sure I will be purchasing the new Odin I spoke of yesterday and Party on Island Not quite sure of my third purchase, but I am thinking it will be a new mini and as much as I want Ariadne, this must just have to wait until my birthday. We will see - of course I will let you know on Friday.

Time Warner Cable
I hate my cable company - For whatever reason they switched my Soapnet channel so you have to have an upgraded package to view it. Are you kidding me. So now I don't get to watch General Hospital at night and it is so annoying. Now I have to watch it the next day on the internet. This just makes me so very angry. They have such a hold over their customers, and they are so expensive. But if I was a new customer, it would cost my $100.00 less a month - for sure. Maybe I will have to see about switching - do I want to, no, it is such a pain - but I hate to feel like I am owned by Time Warner Cable....
New Releases Heaven and Earth Designs
Whatever am I going to do - I know I will not wait for a sale, I know I will purchase these two charts before Friday - and are you kidding me? Just how many charts will I own. I have to admit the first charts I purchased, so many I will never do - for some reason, I had to own them, but for the life of me I do not remember why. Odin and Ariadne What do you think? Do you own "too many" charts......

Back to work after Vacation
Okay so Theresa and Huntley and JJ are in Jamacia, Heather and Brittney are in Georgia - to New Orleans. Amazing - Raphael has completed the fix up of the attic - Melissa is working on Brittney's room. It was 60 today so happy took a great walk up to higher Onondaga with Dakota.
So no comment about the brackets. No comment about the Knicks.
Watched a great movie - Chocolat - last night - if you have never seen it - it is a must It is definite a movie I could watch over and over again and I am moving it into like my top 25 list. I was so intrigued I could not even stitch while I was watching, and you know how that goes - I always stitch and watch TV ---- did not even take a break.... Seriously --- Now I do love Johnny Depp - he fascinates me, but it was more than that, his part was very small. 5 Stars.....
Watching my most favorite TV show of the season Once Upon A Time I really do like this show. So many twists and turns - like tonight it is Little Red Riding Hood, and of course it has a great twist, You gotta watch this if you liked Lost, or you have a great Imagination - and you can get drawn into Fairy Tales or time travel.
But right now, I am going to get ready to stitch want to make some real progress on QS Tomboy

Cross stitch Update HAED SAL
Week Beginning - this is the UFO week, I am working on my QS Tomboy,it is one of my 2012 goals and I have been working on it for over a year now and not even one page done She is 1 over 1 full crosses 22 ct Hardanger Selina Fenech Artist
Week Ending After picture - SAL Freebie SK Forbidden Doorway This is 2 over 1 full crosses on 1 ct aida Meredith Dillman - Artist This link takes you to the artist site and this full size picture, It was cropped for the Freebie SAL to be a SK size. Please see Heaven And Earth Designs for more info,
These are both great for me, because I do not need help with the seeing - no mag glass. It is awkward for me to use one. Treasures on 25 - is hard, and Northern Lights on 28 hard - I may do a restart for Northern Lights - I really want to finish that project but the fabric count is holding me back
Friday Vacation
So we play Cincy in the Big East Semi Finals - I think that is what you call it tonight at 7.
I am nervous, but not as nervous as yesterday beating UCONN. That win made us look good. Visited with Theresa last night in Cortland to say goodbye to my granddaughter Jazarah Johnson before they travel to Jamacia with daddy to visit his people. How awesome to have two different cultures. I am sure this will not be the last time they visit Jamacia and one of these times they are taking me with them for sure.
All about me day - Hair appt, Gym, Pastabilities (for bread and hot oil), Sound Garden - to see what is new and great in music and movies. Have the best used selection around. And the people are awesom.
Okay is it a wine or beer night? I mean it is Big East Basketball and that is a beer thing, but Pasta's bread and oil definitely a wine and cheese - oh decisions, decisions......

It's Monday March 5 and we have snow
Okay so it snowed today - excellent, however isn't this a little late, very thankful the weather in CNY has been quite calm, and my thoughts and prayers, a million times over go out to the people in the MidWest who are suffering because of the recent Tornados...
So this weekend I watched General Hospital on Hulu - all 5 days at a time. I have believed from the start Kates other personality shot Sonny - not sure if that is who it is, but would love a reason to get rid of her. Not that I don't like her, cause I do, as a character, but I have never liked this character with Sonny and I think it will be great fun if she shot his butt.
I am very excited to see the OLTL characters on General Hospital. I have always loved Blair and Todd, Star grew up to be great and John McBain has always been my heart throb. He is dark and mysterious and has a troubled path, my dream come true. I had stopped watching OLTL a couple of years ago - I had to make a choice and pick one of the ABC soaps and because General Hospital was my favorite - I stayed with it (I have watched it forever). I just felt I was spending too many hours watching soap operas. But I figured 5 a week would be just enough.
I am sad about many of the story lines - I was so hoping for a Carly/Shaun thing - I was thinking he would be the man that could entice her enough to leave Sam and Jason alone - I was hoping Sonny would leave the crime to others, Jason would be good again (cause I love him, but seriously, how can you love a cold blooded killer). I also love Ethan - and agree with Maxi about Elizabeth. Anyway this is so enough about General Hospital
Talking about TV, have you seen Once Upon A Time - that is my favorite show -- love, love it. Each week has a brand new story, just when you think you may have it figured out, they flip it on you. Would love to know, did that author that came to town, change the pages in the book - I thought he did, but not sure - guess I should go to a blog or something.,..
Heaven and Earth Designs - I am so excited my mini request has been charted - Pirate - Fenech - and will purchase before days end. I do think if I have a new start this year, this will have to be the one.
SU finished the season with a 30-1 record. We just have to make it to New Orleans to the final four. Am starting to think I will be very sad at home this week, when my good friends are all down in NYC at the Blarney and Madison Square Garden - Hoping SU wins, and if not then of course Marquette, or my long shot St. Johns - even USF would be great.
I really do not like the Knicks to lose, but it is even worse when they lose to the Celtics in overtime. So sad.
Journey 2 was a great movie, took the grandkids - and I think it is a must see and you must see in 3d.

Friday Heaven and Earth SAL Update
![]() |
Yes I know, this is sideways, but I can't figure out why when I look at it on the computer it is the correct way. This is for the week ending - The after picture - you can't really tell but I did do a lot. This is Heaven and Earth Designs, Jessica Galbrath, SK Silvery Moon (this is one of Jessica's retired works) |
This is for the week beginning March 2, 2012. This is the Freebie SK SAL Forbidden Doorway by Meredith Dillman
This is a fun project - and it may or may not be a good week for stitching. It could be good because I am on vacation, it could be bad because it is the week of the Big East Mens Basketball Tournament (I attend quite frequently, go SU) and there will be so much basketball to watch - and I should spend this week doing a little home improvement.

March 1, 2012
So it snowed - yesterday - so in Central New York, Syracuse to be exact - when we average way over 100 inches of snow a year, we now have about 40. I am tired of mud - but it's March - and it feels like November - I know I should not complain, about this winter - but I so wish we had snow - no kids sledding, no snowmen, no snow..... Rain- lots of rain and mud - like we already had Spring.
So I have updated my cross stitch page - with my Heaven and Earth Designs 2012 goals - I am thinking I will need more than one page for Cross stitch - but I have to keep the main posting on the front page
Also updated my Sports Rambling - but I have to figure out how to put the labels on the pages.
Notice I did not update yet my healthy eating and moving for me page - oh you could not find that one - jeesh - guess I should create it, since it is a focus of my life.... Well maybe later.
