May 6 CrossStitch Update

So this week I will be working on Forbidden Doorway.  The Freebie HAED SAL, and I am really happy because I love to work on this one.  This is the before.

I have no After of Tresures because I was so disappointed in my lack of time spent on it - it was no change.

So I wondered, what is up with that - why was it so difficult for me to stitch this past week, on a chart I LOVE - its a black and white, I have the perfect place for it, it is a Mermaid......  So what was my problem.  Simple it is the 25 ct fabric.  I am sure of it - I can't see it and I have to use a magnifer and I have not found a comfortable way to stitch on it.  What to do????  Well - it will work out I know, because I really love it too much to leave it UNFINISHED.  So I am on the search for a much better magnifier thing.  And I may just go to the eye drs and see if she can hook me up with better glasses, well just needlework glasses....  or something. 

In the meantime, after reading other blogs, I have started missing my NON HAED design wips.  So I am going to change some things up.  Not sure just how - but I am going to start working on more variety of projects.  I know if I keep the beads out - which I hate, and the fractional stitches - which I hate I think I will be just fine.  I do not mind the back stitching.  And for the designs I really love with beads, half the time you can leave the beads out and they look just fine to me.  And seriously, aren't I the one that matters here.

Mowed the lawn today - it was like a jungle out there...  but glad that is over.

Love Sunday nights.  Remind me of being a kid and family times, but now I am not watching Disney, or Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom - but I am watching a Fairy Tale....  Once Upon a Time.  So addicted that show, must be because after Mermaids, I think I love witches most.

Back to work after Vacation

Okay so Theresa and Huntley and JJ are in Jamacia, Heather and Brittney are in Georgia - to New Orleans.  Amazing - Raphael has completed the fix up of the attic - Melissa is working on Brittney's room.  It was 60 today so happy took a great walk up to higher Onondaga with Dakota.

So no comment about the brackets.  No comment about the Knicks. 

Watched a great movie - Chocolat - last night - if you have never seen it - it is a must It is definite a movie I could watch over and over again and I am moving it into like my top 25 list.  I was so intrigued I could not even stitch while I was watching, and you know how that goes - I always stitch and watch TV ----  did not even take a break.... Seriously --- Now I do love Johnny Depp - he fascinates me, but it was more than that, his part was very small.  5 Stars.....

Watching my most favorite TV show of the season Once Upon A Time   I really do like this show.  So many twists and turns - like tonight it is Little Red Riding Hood, and of course it has a great twist,  You gotta watch this if you liked Lost, or you have a great Imagination - and you can get drawn into Fairy Tales or time travel. 


But right now, I am going to get ready to stitch want to make some real progress on QS Tomboy

It's Monday March 5 and we have snow

Okay so it snowed today - excellent, however isn't this a little late, very thankful the weather in CNY has been quite calm, and my thoughts and prayers, a million times over go out to the people in the MidWest who are suffering because of the recent Tornados...

So this weekend I watched General Hospital on Hulu - all 5 days at a time.  I have believed from the start Kates other personality shot Sonny - not sure if that is who it is, but would love a reason to get rid of her.  Not that I don't like her, cause I do, as a character, but I have never liked this character with Sonny and I think it will be great fun if she shot his butt.
I am very excited to see the OLTL characters on General Hospital.  I have always loved Blair and Todd, Star grew up to be great and John McBain has always been my heart throb.  He is dark and mysterious and has a troubled path, my dream come true.  I had stopped watching OLTL a couple of years ago - I had to make a choice and pick one of the ABC soaps and because General Hospital was my favorite - I stayed with it (I have watched it forever).  I just felt I was spending too many hours watching soap operas.   But I figured 5 a week would be just enough.
I am sad about many of the story lines - I was so hoping for a Carly/Shaun thing - I was thinking he would be the man that could entice her enough to leave Sam and Jason alone - I was hoping Sonny would leave the crime to others, Jason would be good again (cause I love him, but seriously, how can you love a cold blooded killer).  I also love Ethan - and agree with Maxi about Elizabeth.  Anyway this is so enough about General Hospital

Talking about TV, have you seen Once Upon A Time - that is my favorite show -- love, love it.  Each week has a brand new story, just when you think you may have it figured out, they flip it on you.  Would love to know, did that author that came to town, change the pages in the book - I thought he did, but not sure - guess I should go to a blog or something.,..
Heaven and Earth Designs - I am so excited my mini request has been charted - Pirate - Fenech - and will purchase before days end.  I do think if I have a new start this year, this will have to be the one.

SU finished the season with a 30-1 record.  We just have to make it to New Orleans to the final four.  Am starting to think I will be very sad at home this week, when my good friends are all down in NYC at the Blarney and Madison Square Garden - Hoping SU wins, and if not then of course Marquette, or my long shot St. Johns - even USF would be great.

I really do not like the Knicks to lose, but it is even worse when they lose to the Celtics in overtime.  So sad.

Journey 2 was a great movie, took the grandkids - and I think it is a must see and you must see in 3d.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hope all of you are feeling loved today.  I am, as I am so blessed with kids and grandkids.  The day was not the best for Brittney and Heather, disappointed for sure, but you know what they say, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.  Brittney is right, everything happens for a reason,so there must be one.  

New Topic  This is the latest update of SK Treasures, Heaven and Earth Designs.  This week I am working on another Heaven and Earth Designs - Fancy Dancing by Teri Rosario.  I will post a picture on Thursday..  For all Heaven and Earth designs please check link on my favorites. 

Would be wrong not to mention Jeremy Lin #17 Knicks have to do that.  He is making a believer out of several non - believers, my Knicks have won six in a row.  And might as well mention here, once again, how upset I am that MSG and Time Warner could not do something to resolve their differences.  Which is amazing and I am sure this will all even out, but right now it is fun to be a Knick.  Talking about basketball SU just beat Louisville last night and they just did not seem to be there.  So glad they were able to beat both Pitt and Louisville Scoop and Joseph's Sr. Year. 

Loving, loving, my Color Nook.  It fits my needs perfectly.  Should spend more time reading and less time playing Solitaire, but it does make me happy.  Talking about reading Scottish Prisioner by Diana Gabaldon is very good for me.  Do I miss Claire, yes I do, but I also love Jamie and I also know I would love most anything she would write.  She does keep me interested, but do believe I should read once again the whole series before her next book.  There are so many books to read in so little time.

Love the new TV show on abc Once Upon a Time.  I really am addicted to it - hope the storyline stays this exciting.  Trying to keep up with Alcatraz on Fox, but it is harder. Both of these shows seem to have ties to Lost.  Love the introduction of Belle on Once - it is Claire from Lost.
