Saturday, Saturday

So what's the plan - we must have a plan, its Saturday.  Nope.  Been fighting a cold and today I am fighting it home, and drinking some tea, and resting.  A little Syracuse University Football around Noon, a little catching up on my soap - General Hospital, and yes I am addicted to a soap, so sad.

Have you ever tried to list all the things you may learn from reading other blogs.  Yesterday I learned all about Sharkfin Soup from SamplersSilksandLinens.  And how great it would be to live in Cobourg, located in Southern Ontario from Bonnies World  It is such a big and wonderful world, and I know only a small little part of it...

I have learned so many things, from so many bloggers - will be sharing them also during my November Challenge to post every day.

My biggest blessing - really my number 1 blessing, is my kids.  I was so lucky to be blessed with the gift, of bringing six new people into this world, with fingers crossed will make it a better place to live in some way or change someone life to the positive.  They are 2 boys, 37, 35 and 4 girls 29,7,24,23.

Now why may you ask did I mention my job first - because of my job, these kids had a place to lay their heads at night - something to eat every day - even if it was Ramen Noodles - and 90% of the time the lights were on, and we had a phone (back in the days of land lines) and more often than not cable.  And I think because my kids saw me work hard, they all have worked hard - with degrees from different colleges/universities - I have inner city school teachers, social worker, university student advisor,  and I know they will change the lives of many...

And just a little note on that - I have survived their middle school years, and all the drama high school brings, and the expense of college - well because I am a Cross Stitcher - and a runner - and a life time Weight Watcher,  these things,  can take you to a Very Special place, that is all about you.

Enjoy the day.

Setting some New Goals

It's almost June 1 and it is the time of year, where I examine my yearly goals and admit to my successes and failures.

I always look at those I need to improve on first - my walking and my eating.

And I am re focusing on these two.  My daughters, the youngest two, and my youngest son are home for the summer SO... We have set up an obstacle exercise course in the back yard - and my son has taken on the Motivator Coach Role (he is fit).  So I have my Circuit training for  the summer and I have recommitted to my 15 miles to walk a week - with my dog, those two things are easy.  But I need to do the strength training for my BONES so I must get back to the weights at the gym.

We have dumped the food we do not need to eat, filled the fridge with fruits veggies proteins and I think my Summer come be healthy - If I make the right choices.  Getting back to what I am comfortable, which is the simply filling plan for Weight Watchers, Inc.  I really should attend meetings, because I have so many friends who are leaders, they are double the inspiration - I will see about it - I think it will be beneficial to me.

Going in the Right Direction:
My reading goals have been over and above what I could have wished for.  My Facebook time has been less and less (excellent), I have been able to take 10 hours a week to cross stitch, and I have made every attempt to spend more time with all my grandkids.  I have started purging my cross stitch stuff to send to a Womens Center, and my clothes and other things to do the good will.  I am afraid of something thinking I am a hoarder... (well not so bad, but could be).

I will not eat Chocolate at Work Today

So its 11:00am my time.  And the cravings have begun, my co workers bag of Mini Chocolate Herseys candy bars is so very close, I can smell the chocolate I swear.  Now if I could only have one that would be okay, but I can't, and I know it.  And I know once I start those things, I can't stop.  My goodness, I love Herseys candy so much I actually have a Tattoo of two Herseys Kisses, yes that is correct, and why do I have two?  Because never in this life time have I ever had one of anything, not one kid, not one husband, not one job.... Well I have one dog now, but two cats........

But today I WILL NOT eat Chocolate at work, and I can't run outside and stand on the street corner, and say that it doesn't count, because I am not in the building....

That is a promise I am making too myself.

Happy May 1 -- Let us all hope up here in Central New York, the snow is over, as last Friday we were still getting it.

Reflections

"The first principle is that you must not fool yourself - and you are the easiest person to fool." Richard Feynman
Today I took a long hard look at myself in the mirror, before I got dressed, the full length one.  UGH.  Seriously Mindy.  Okay.  So because I did not like what I saw, decided once again, this was going to be day One, get back on track (Weight Watchers Track) and get back to living my life the way I need to.  Heck, my blood pressure medicine had to be upped for a reason.  Went looking through my archives of quotes back from my Leader Days and found this one - and it hit it for me today.  Fingers crossed it will stay with me for awhile so I can get back to my Healthy Weight.  I am tired of squeezing into my pants, and choosing not to wear jeans, elastic sweats feel so much better.

Today, I took out my Points Plus Calc. and figured out the P+ for my new natural Peanut Butter from Peter Pan.  6 P+ s serving.  SO with Peanut Butter, I just needed a half a serving to give my Banana a boost.  My goodness I can't tell you when was the last time I used that calculator.

I can't keep fooling myself, - it does matter to me how I look - I worked so hard to get there, why am I being so stupid.  It does matter about my blood pressure, and I can't control it without good food choices and activity and it is not something to play with - I am just a year younger right now then my dad was when he had his heart attack and died.

What's my weekly plan.

My weekly plan is to track everything.  That's it, just one change.  But along with that tracking, I am limiting myself to 5 non power food snacks this week.  No Hersey Bar after lunch every day, no Ice Cream (full strength) on Chocolate Grahamn crackers every night, no counting beer as a liquid.

Fingers Crossed.  Good Luck to me.

And the Sale has been Extended

And Vanity is now a Mini  - which means, I will purchase that before the end of the sale.  And that is the truth.  I  have the full size and I will never do it - I have to have this mini.  When am I ever going to stop saying I have to have.

Also - Fitness News
I tried on my Fat Pants today and they are tight- I have a doctors appt on Wednesday and I afraid to step on the scale.  How can a Weight Watchers Life Time Member, former leader, do this - get so off track to gain I bet no less than 15 pounds above goal - from Thanksgiving to now.  I am so sad, very upset, with me because I am starting to think I will never learn.

Someone knock me over the head.  Gotta get back on track.

Family News
Heather and Brittney back from New Orleans - have not talked with them yet - Theresa back from Jamacia and after spending a week with Huntleys people, she has learned so much.  And I know she has a much better appreciation of Huntley, his culture, the way his family continues to live, and how her life growing up was nothing compared to Huntley's and how blessed she is to be an American.

Motivation and Desire

Help me, Help me.   I am so struggling right now.  Once again I have pulled out my Weight Watchers three month tracker - once again I have looked at all the pages of each week I have not tracked and started a new week with today .  A Tuesday no less.  Since I am a Lifetime Member, I have not weighed yet in Februray and I don't want to - because HOW COULD I DO THIS AGAIN.  How could I get at least 5 pounds over my healthy weight.  How could I be going back to all these old freaking habits.  Can you year what I am saying here.  Can you see my level of frustration, but even more my extreme disappointment in myself.

WHY WHY WHY could I so easily lose my 50 pounds by tracking and moving more.  Why am I having such a hard time staying on track.  I have all the cookbooks, I have all the tools, I know this program.  My goodness until last November I was a leader - a motivator - and now I am drowning.

What is with this behavior?  Why am I sabotaging myself.  Why are my pants tight around the middle again and my favorite pair of jeans a struggle to zip.

Do you know the answers, I have to find them somewhere.

So today I am tracking all my feelings again - every fight I have with food, every time I eat something I really don't want to.  Which means to you all - there just may be a lot of posts to this blog every day, which means I am writing in a smaller font.

Feel free to comment with any suggestions or struggles.  Thanks so much.

And so I am quoting out of the page in my 3 month Weight Watchers trackr - Did you know?  Those who achieve their goals simply refuse to quit.

Why don't I want to achieve my goal of MAINTAINING my healthy weight?  Why do I constantly be in this roller coaster state, up and down - what am I thinking

Tracking - Weight Watchers

Okay, so this is not to influence anyone to join Weight Watchers, but since I had great success losing my weight through Weight Watchers I feel connected to this program.  It was easy for me to follow, and to lose weight and to never, ever feel as if I couldn't have what I wanted to eat.  Sometimes it was as simple as just eating less of it.

BUT anyway - that is not the reason for this post.  Tracking - even if you do not do Weight Watchers, it doesn't matter what plan you are on, if you want to lose, you have to burn more than you eat.  It is a very simple concept - and the only way I know how much I eat, is by tracking, because then it is there in black and white, and I can't pretend I didn't eat something  or fake it when I get on the scale and wonder why I am not losing.

But that is still not the point, the point is in my tracker they have little bits of advice each day, and todays tip was
'Did you Know? - Get your rest.  Not getting enough sleep has various negative effects on health and has been linked to weight gain and obesity."  How many of us get enough rest?  How much is enough?  I heard between 7 and 9.....  Think about that  Please Please Please if you quote me on this make sure you give the props to Weight Watchers - it is their quote... Thanks all

February Goals

Okay its about time I set up my February goals as it is a week in. I am going to work out this month at least 5 days a week. I want to, I have to, it is a part of overall good health. I know that, why do I lie to myself and make excuses. Who knows....
Tracking - one of my Weight Watchers Tools - I am tracking - not only my food, but my emotions, my arguments with food. I have to get back to what works for me. Embrace a life style that makes me happy and healthy.

I love my nook - but one of my goals for Feb is to spend more time reading than playing games. I can't believe how easy it is for me to get involved in some random computer game.

File my taxes

Cross stitch - switch all the game playing time with cross stitch - work towards my Heaven and Earth goals, but it doesn't need to be the only designer.

Print out my movie list -- movies since I was born who have one the Oscar for best picture or at least been nominated.

I also have to find a new hobby.

Halloween 2025 Update So it has been a couple of months - and I basically learned a lot about how I waste time for one thing, but I also r...
