Saturday, Saturday

So what's the plan - we must have a plan, its Saturday.  Nope.  Been fighting a cold and today I am fighting it home, and drinking some tea, and resting.  A little Syracuse University Football around Noon, a little catching up on my soap - General Hospital, and yes I am addicted to a soap, so sad.

Have you ever tried to list all the things you may learn from reading other blogs.  Yesterday I learned all about Sharkfin Soup from SamplersSilksandLinens.  And how great it would be to live in Cobourg, located in Southern Ontario from Bonnies World  It is such a big and wonderful world, and I know only a small little part of it...

I have learned so many things, from so many bloggers - will be sharing them also during my November Challenge to post every day.

My biggest blessing - really my number 1 blessing, is my kids.  I was so lucky to be blessed with the gift, of bringing six new people into this world, with fingers crossed will make it a better place to live in some way or change someone life to the positive.  They are 2 boys, 37, 35 and 4 girls 29,7,24,23.

Now why may you ask did I mention my job first - because of my job, these kids had a place to lay their heads at night - something to eat every day - even if it was Ramen Noodles - and 90% of the time the lights were on, and we had a phone (back in the days of land lines) and more often than not cable.  And I think because my kids saw me work hard, they all have worked hard - with degrees from different colleges/universities - I have inner city school teachers, social worker, university student advisor,  and I know they will change the lives of many...

And just a little note on that - I have survived their middle school years, and all the drama high school brings, and the expense of college - well because I am a Cross Stitcher - and a runner - and a life time Weight Watcher,  these things,  can take you to a Very Special place, that is all about you.

Enjoy the day.

General Hospital

I love John McBain - I love him in Port Charles, hope this means he will stay away from Natalie, wish I could figure out why I so do not like them together.  Maybe why I wanted Lucky with Chevon (spelling?) - Jason with Sam, Carly with Shaun (who has completely disappeared).

I hope they can save General Hospital... I know you can't please all of us, and even if my favs, fall in love with others, I have adjusted over the years - and continued to watch GH - no matter who loves who, or who comes back from the dead - or is not really dead - wish they would say Cassandra is still alive, and that was just part of the Ethan con ----  and so happy Robin is stuck locked away some where by someone who wants to get back at Anna or Robert - or something - they just snuck her out the back door of the lab - we all know this could happen.  Hell, remember in All my Children with Jesse - they even had a whole plot where he played a ghost and heck he came back to life.... Love Soap Operas.  for real

Sunday Morning

So here it is the last Sunday in March and it is rainy and dark.  Sort of the mood, with SU losing I need something to cheer me up.  I am going to spend this morning stitching on my HAED SAL, Fairy Foal Hatching (Themed weekend Spring) watching this weeks General Hospital (American Soap Opera) on Hulu.com.  Plans for this afternoon - take my granddaughter to see Hunger Games for her birthday.  Will let you know how that all goes this evening.

Love you 'Cuse - been a fan for 40 years, and you guys have to be one of my top 3 teams.

Love you HAED.  No beads, no fractional stitches, no backstitching.

Love you Sunday mornings, my alone time, my faith, my needle, its an amazing thing

Time Warner Cable

I hate my cable company - For whatever reason they switched my Soapnet channel so you have to have an upgraded package to view it.  Are you kidding me.  So now I don't get to watch General Hospital at night and it is so annoying.  Now I have to watch it the next day on the internet.  This just makes me so very angry.  They have such a hold over their customers, and they are so expensive.  But if I was a new customer, it would cost my $100.00 less a month - for sure.  Maybe I will have to see about switching - do I want to, no, it is such a pain - but I hate to feel like I am owned by Time Warner Cable....

It's Monday March 5 and we have snow

Okay so it snowed today - excellent, however isn't this a little late, very thankful the weather in CNY has been quite calm, and my thoughts and prayers, a million times over go out to the people in the MidWest who are suffering because of the recent Tornados...

So this weekend I watched General Hospital on Hulu - all 5 days at a time.  I have believed from the start Kates other personality shot Sonny - not sure if that is who it is, but would love a reason to get rid of her.  Not that I don't like her, cause I do, as a character, but I have never liked this character with Sonny and I think it will be great fun if she shot his butt.
I am very excited to see the OLTL characters on General Hospital.  I have always loved Blair and Todd, Star grew up to be great and John McBain has always been my heart throb.  He is dark and mysterious and has a troubled path, my dream come true.  I had stopped watching OLTL a couple of years ago - I had to make a choice and pick one of the ABC soaps and because General Hospital was my favorite - I stayed with it (I have watched it forever).  I just felt I was spending too many hours watching soap operas.   But I figured 5 a week would be just enough.
I am sad about many of the story lines - I was so hoping for a Carly/Shaun thing - I was thinking he would be the man that could entice her enough to leave Sam and Jason alone - I was hoping Sonny would leave the crime to others, Jason would be good again (cause I love him, but seriously, how can you love a cold blooded killer).  I also love Ethan - and agree with Maxi about Elizabeth.  Anyway this is so enough about General Hospital

Talking about TV, have you seen Once Upon A Time - that is my favorite show -- love, love it.  Each week has a brand new story, just when you think you may have it figured out, they flip it on you.  Would love to know, did that author that came to town, change the pages in the book - I thought he did, but not sure - guess I should go to a blog or something.,..
Heaven and Earth Designs - I am so excited my mini request has been charted - Pirate - Fenech - and will purchase before days end.  I do think if I have a new start this year, this will have to be the one.

SU finished the season with a 30-1 record.  We just have to make it to New Orleans to the final four.  Am starting to think I will be very sad at home this week, when my good friends are all down in NYC at the Blarney and Madison Square Garden - Hoping SU wins, and if not then of course Marquette, or my long shot St. Johns - even USF would be great.

I really do not like the Knicks to lose, but it is even worse when they lose to the Celtics in overtime.  So sad.

Journey 2 was a great movie, took the grandkids - and I think it is a must see and you must see in 3d.

Parenting Does it ever get any easier

PJ (Henry Zachery IV) is 37 today.  That is not easy to handle - my first born has turned 37.  It is so hard to explain what it was like to become MOM - being married to a US Marine stationed in North Carolina who had never given up his ex girlfriend. Having a kid with parents of two different races, a child who would always be thought of as an Africian American, even though I was so Scottish and contributed 50% of his DNA and 95% of his care and upbringing.  We survived it all.  If you have ever read the Twilight Saga by then you know about "imprinting" and that is what it was, in a Mother Child way when I first set eyes on my first born.  Happy Birthday to an amazing man, a wonderful son, and the person who changed the road I walked and my life's journey.

Theresa - yesterday pictures with Jazarah and Huntley - it was an adventure.  I so hope she can figure this whole thing out, relationships are hard and she has no role model, as I never could stay married more than 5 years, and never learned how to resolve conflict.  My life is sort of like Elizabeth Weber's on General Hospital.     Well the relationships and the kids, not the painting or the nurse part.

Knicks win again - SU beats Rutgers.  Sports are good.

Jada my oldest Grandkid - she performed at her school pep rally singing Lean on Me like no tomorrow.  Wish I could figure out how to upload this link - but it was on the phone, and you really can't see her, but if I could figure out how to just get a voice clip.  Still can't get over the fact my oldest grandkid is a JR in High School.

Live each day, life is so freaking short

Tomorrow President's Day - I will reflect in the morning of the blessings of America, and how proud I am of the red white and blue, thankful that I am able to vote for who I want, Women still have the Right to Choose, (which is not the opposite of Life), and I can worship my God in the way that works for me.

Halloween 2025 Update So it has been a couple of months - and I basically learned a lot about how I waste time for one thing, but I also r...
