So it has been a couple of months - and I basically learned a lot about how I waste time for one thing, but I also realized many things about my cross stitching -
I am so easily influenced by all the stitchers on floss tube and instagram and facebook. And I always plan on an unreasonable amount of things I want to stitch on. I have not mastered the putting away a project once I have completed my goal. But I am sure with practice I will become amazing at it.
How do you not start all the things - join all the games - watch all the flosstubers and read all the comments on Instagram and Facebook?
So September I really over committed and felt defeated. UGH
But October I approached everything differently and was able to successfully complete two - and so very happy - and sometimes winning doesn't mean doing everything - but just attempting
Adelaide Stitches - Facebook - Acrostic (?) October. I have no idea of any of my fabrics - and mostly always use called for DMC - unless its a monochromatic and then I just go with whatever.
So here is my Success
that looks so small I hope we can read it once I post this
But the most important thing for me to share is my stitching, isn't that why I am attempting to keep this blog.
I think if you are reading this - you may already know how these things work - But I picked a WIP or did a New Start for each letter in October - And it's all just random. And I made my own goals
O - Hallows Eve Sampler - O in October - JCS Halloween 2025 - Goal - New Start 1 Hour
My pictures are always full of shadows are very dark but I am sure as I go I will improve this..
C Celtic Knot Bat - Also JCS Halloween 2025 New Start 1 hour
I have never really embraced beading - but it is a goal for me - and this design actually has what seems like a lot of beads to me, but not really and I felt it was a goo way to get started
T Halloween Tree JCS Halloween 2013 (?) I think - Finish - I started this last Halloween
Did not use the glow in the dark floss - just white -
O - Orange Fabric Sal - Adelaide - started in August for her birthday - I did not stitch the whole chart just the Hocus Pocus
This is also in JSC Halloween 2013
I have a long standing love for Cross stitch Magazines and Books and being retired with a different income I have totally dived into my stash and am committed to stitching at least one project from each of my mags/books -
B - Autumn Bell Pull - Stoney Creek - Spring 2015 - this is now an individual chart. This is one of those projects I started prior to 2020 And I finally finished the A - I counted incorrectly - and the outline of the square is off both in width and height So I had to fudge a bunch - I noted this because I have to do all the blocks the same but I am the best at making little adjustments.
E Eat Fruits and Veggies Being Vegan this is really my kind of chart - This is in Stoney Creek Mag Dec 07 - Goal 2 hours And I also used this for another challenge - Trick or Treat for the Facebook Group Monthly Magazine (this was a five day only game - roll of dice - even - one project -odd the other project.
And Lastly there is R - and this is WildLife Stocking - and my goal was the Red Cardinal. I also used this for the Trick or Treat odd or even game and those stitches were so helpful. My goal was to finish the Cardinal This stocking is in the Book Holiday Memories - Better Homes and Gardens and also is left over from before 2020. I have dedicated a bunch of time to this project because I also worked on this in August and September
So I am leaving the rest of my October stitching for another post - I hope to do the beginning of next week - Fingers Crossed because I really do have more to share and it all just comes down to posting on the regular
