This has been stitching up quicker than I thought it would, and I really believe it will be finished by the end of the month. This is Silent Night Cardinals by Stoney Creek
I have spent some of my time organizing all of my WIPS. I have joined a Facebook Group called the Soulful Stitching Sisters and the admin has organized a Year of Wips challenge - from October 1 - December 2017. I am using my membership in this group to try to finish some of these WIPS of long ago - I started for a special reason, and even though my stitching tastes have changed over time, these are still the ones I want to finish
This is one of those challenges I think so many of the members are posting videos - but I am not there yet - so I am adding my pictures. I have updated my blog pages to reflect this challenge and we will see how it goes. I do have some personal goals - and they do not include turning all of my WIPS into finishes.
Have a wonderful day.
I truly believe these SALs are fantastic to keep us wayward stitchers on track. Well I need all the help I can get. Good luck with the Year of wips challenge. I hope you still post on your blog though. So I can cheer you on.

This looks so beautiful, you are doing a superb job on it. Best of luck with getting the finish on it. Hope you enjoy the new challenge you joined.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful design and great stitching.
ReplyDeleteThat cardinal is just striking - Stoney Creek is really good fr that. Good luck with the WIP challenge.
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching, looks so beautiful. All the best with your WIPs.
ReplyDeleteGreat progress on your piece.
ReplyDeleteThat cardinal is just so sweet!
Your stitching looks great! Very pretty. Those WIP SALS are quite handy to get the WIP pile under control!
ReplyDeleteGreat Solo September progress! Those cardinals are beautiful and look like they could be a finish soon.
ReplyDeleteYour SAL sounds fun. I tried to reduce my WIPS this year but with a couple of new starts I'm almost back to where I started! But at least they are different projects and I got some larger WIPS finished.
Great progress, Melinda, on this lovely piece.
ReplyDeleteThat FB group sounds very interesting. My plans for next year are very similar. This year I have had a year of uncontrolled starts, lol, next year I want to finish some of the WIPs that have been sitting in two large boxes for quite a while - at least longer than wo years. Let's see how successful we will be :)
Beautiful progress on the cardinal piece. I wish you lots of luck on your SAL. I will cheer you along.
ReplyDeleteYour cardinals look lovely!
ReplyDeleteI saw Melanie's Flosstube clip about that Soulful Stitches WIP challenge - great idea! I like the idea of sending postcards to keep everyone motivated and inspired! Good luck with your WIPs :o)
Next year I am hoping to spend more time getting some of my WIPs finished but there are always new starts teasing me!!
Hugs xx
Lovely cardinals and close to a finish too.
ReplyDeleteI think the Year of WIPs SAL is a great idea, especially the postcard encouragement.
I'm sticking with WIPocalypse because I want to focus on two BAPs next year.
