June Small Sal and More

This is my Finish for the Small Sal hosted by Stitching Lotus.  I am very happy I have posted a small for each month so far this year.  This is Primitive Star and it was published in Cross Stitch and Needlework Magazine. I switched the colors - the letters are Oatmeal and the Star and Border are Turkish Red.

This is America Finished.  This is a Freebie from my LNS From Nebby Needle From May 2014, this link will get you close.

This is my update on the Red, White and Blue Nutcraker.

And my last little item to talk about.  Jo from Serendipitious Stitching often shares her Scrap Book page finishes, and I really loved this idea.  I have never scrapbooked before but I had to try this. So I made one.  This is my Hello I finished earlier this year and it is really attached to this scrapbook page.  The colors of the phone are a little washed out - but I just really love this. I have it displayed in a 12 x 12 Shadow Box.

Now I am on a mission to find just the right pages to finish off very many smalls.  Thanks Jo.

June is over - July is bound to be full of Sunshine and Summer Stitching.

Keeping this about Stitching

It is a hard day to try to keep this post just about my Stitching and not to go off the deep end and rant and rave about all the things I want to talk about.  It's really hard to continue to believe one way, when all around you, people are doing such terrible things.

In celebration of my country founded on individual freedoms I have a new finish and a new WIP.
Here is Tree USA by Angel Stitching - finally finished.  This has been in my todo pile for years.

The Nebby Needle is a Freebie, I got this from my LNS.  This I also hope to finish before the end of the week.   I wonder, as I stitched on this piece, how did we get to where we are today? and where will be tomorrow? and why do some of us have to continue to die to be free, in a country that was suppose to be built on the right to be Free?  And is my definition of Free, different?

Random Rambles

All Kinds of Kind.  Miranda Lambert - Country

I love Miranda Lambert, but that is not what my ramble is about today.  This song, All Kinds Of Kind is very Miranda - and the lyrics are what they are - but when I hear this song, it makes me think.  Think about acceptance of others - and how important it is for us to STOP JUDGING each other, because we are different.

Am I without judgment - heck no, do I wish I was - of course, but I can't help but judge serial killers, or child abusers, or Cruel People, or people who stand behind their religion to bully others.

And America - come on now - why did we all come here?  We came here for the Freedoms that were promised.  The Freedom to be me - to worship who and how I want to - even if it is not your God, or your way, the Freedom to think independently.  And with the privilege of these Freedoms, I had the responsibility and the duty to allow others theirs, within a framework of non violence toward others, and giving all others the respect that I would want.

I have spent a weekend reading and watching.

Reading the most rudest, evil and cruel things being posted on forums and social media where people hide behind technology to bully, harass or judge others.  I have deleted myself from several "Facebook Groups" and "Bulletin Boards".

I have watched Americans do rude and cruel things - now in my mind things were cruel, maybe a better way is to ask  - How to we treat the cashiers, bank tellers, servers who are trying to do the best job ever?  How do we disrespect the environment by litter, or leaving the parking lots scattered with shopping carts?  How do we deal with those who do not believe in my God, or follow my religion? How do we treat those who need to be able to make choices, I may not agree with?

I am proud to be an American - I vote every election - it is a privilege to vote - I worship a God that is just and all forgiving, and he loves me regardless of who I love, or how I love - as long as I love and not hate.  I wave the flag and I stand for the National Anthem, and I pledge to this Flag - because I believe this is the best place to be.

End of August 2025 Update 1

So I am struggling with this new post - what use to be so simple creating these update posts - I am not sure but its taking a few tries to ...
