Witches Update

I so want to keep this blog light and fluffy - one NO DRAMA ZONE for me to escape to and share my thoughts.  But this week sucked.  and it affected my stitching.  Wish I could figure out how to replace the urge to drink and eat with either exercise and stitching when I am stressed or depressed.  But hell with the stress issues - Depression is when you have to bury your 27 year old niece's 28 year old husband because he died of cancer - brain..... Would I upset you all if I just forced you to read a million different (or the same) 4 letter words now.  Instead of me writing them, please just use your favorite ones and think of me screaming them.

Did manage to get a tiny bit of stitching done just on Witches, it was easy enough so there was no thinking, just stitching, but even then it was hard to stay focused. No HAED stitching this past week.

Not sure what I will be committed to this week.  Thinking a little work on Fancy Dancing will be good.  There are so many areas of NON CONFETTI stitching, and this sort of stitching will take me to the place I need to go.

Thanks for listening.

  1. Melinda, I'm so sorry to hear about this. I can really sympathize as we spent my vacation time just spending time with my husband's father last week as he nears the end of his battle with cancer. I think that the youth of your neice's husband makes the emotion all the stronger.

  2. Gosh, that's an awful thing to have to go through. And it's worse when it's someone so young.
I understand your pain - my best friend (for 27 years) lost her little brother to bone cancer in December. He was 22. It's just a horrible thing for anyone to have to make sense of. I'm so glad you were able to find some solace in your stitching. Even if it was the mindless, "no thinking" kind. Sometimes that's the best kind.
Sending peace and blessings your way:)

    1. Melody,
Thank you for taking a moment to reply. So many young people, what is this thing, cancer???.... A word that is so frightening just hearing it... Stops you in your tracks.
Your peace and blessings are much needed and well received.

I do think stiching helps. But I must remember to put the food away (too many finger prints on the fabric) and the drink down (the holes are sometimes hard enough to see when I am not under the influence LOL) first.

    2. Melinda, I'm so sorry your having to go through this. Somehow it is always so much harder to bear when it is someone so young. It all seems so senseless. I hope you are able to find some peace in all this.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas.
