Too many events, no time for stitching

This past week has been too crazy busy for me.  One Grandson with his Cello concert (the instrument is almost as big as him) and car repairs and another Grandson's Senior Prom.  Worked all day Saturday and Mother's Day Sunday - well what I am trying to point out here, is there was very little time for me to stitch.  So I worked on one project from the year of wips challenge. I actually restarted this on new fabric, that I love.
This is my restart of Touching the Autumn Sky by Mirabilia.  Since I really do love this chart, I am so very happy I am back in love with stitching it.  It is amazing what the "right" fabric can do for my desire to stitch a project.

And in the World of Not Stitching.  Here is a picture of my oldest grandson and his date for the Senior Ball.

And this is a picture of me, a very proud grandmother, feeling very short.

Final Post of 2016

This is my final Small for the Small Sal over at Stitching Lotus  Special Shout out to Heather for hosting this wonderful SAL.  I explored the world of Small Charts in 2016 and had so many wonderful finishes.  This was a freebie from my LNS. It is an Ursula Michael's chart.

I have my two final finishes for 2016.  This is a JBW design - It is still missing the tiny little wheels for the engine and caboose - I am going to try to get them and sew them on this weekend
I started this in August for an Olympic challenge and I included it my Year of WIPs

And Woodland Peace is also finished.  Started this in January 2013 for Debbie's Ultimate Crazy CrossSttich Challenge. Included in my Year of Wips and I am so happy it is complete.  I will not be stitching on dark fabric for a bit.  This was a struggle.  But I have wanted to stitch this since 1990 so it is certainly a happy dance.  I have no real plans for 2017 - accept finishing some WIPS and having new starts. Have a wonderful 1st day of the New Year.

Happy Place

The world of Blogging  is my "Happy Place".  In the writing of my blog, and more important in the Reading of blogs.  Blogs from all over the world.  How much to learn about culture, food, customs.  Yes this is my Happy Place.

I am reminding myself of this especially today, because of all of the nonsense that is happening in my wonderful country.(the not so United States of America)  That was built on Freedoms (and we brag about it) and these basic freedoms with a guarantee to all of us,  - and since we with glass houses often times throw stones it is good to remember if you are free to be you, than I am free to be me.

I am very excited to share my latest finish.  Stoney Creek Welcome - Plop Your Flops. This I started just about a year ago and finishing it was a 2016 Goal..  It's Done.  I had so much fun doing these Flip Flops -  They are a true a sign of Summer in CNY and everyone wears them.  I think I am going to do a bunch more as Smalls in many different designs.  I know that will be too much fun.

This Is Nutcracker #3 -  this 1s a 2016 yearly goal to have completed 12 Nutcrackers by 12/25  - This little guy will look just like Mr. Green and Mr. Blue, but you guessed it dressed in Red.

I was so excited on my Plop Flops Finish, I pulled out another WIP.  I started this for Debbie's Ultimate challenge of 15 New Starts back in 2013. (I thought 15 new starts was crazy, so for all of you who start each year with these Challenges I am too impressed.) I have only worked on it once.  This is too a Stoney Creek Design. So here are Silent Night Cardinals  - Fingers crossed they are not as much Trouble as Cardinal with Candy Cane - We will see. When I do these designs the changing of colors are so crazy.  I have pulled out all the greens, and threaded needles for all the colors - it seems to go faster as there are all these little bits of stitches all over the place. I have to stitch next to each other as much as possible - If you look up above to Mr. Red, it took me about 10 minutes of counting and recounting to jump over to put that other column of green stitches in.  I was a mess.  And that is an easy fabric to work on.  SO.  I am on a mission to see how much green I can get done over the next few days.

I will always have a Stoney Creek design in the mix - these were one of my first Cross Stitching passions and I still get a Feeling of Peace whenever I am stitching one of them - and I still subscribe to the Magazine.

2014 Here I am - SO

I have not been posting, or really doing much stitching at all. So yes of course, I have set new goals for 2014 - Stitch a little (Because I know it makes me feel great and is wonderful for the Stress Level) and Blog a little, cause it does wonders for my brain, and try to stay current on my blog reading.

I have finally, now that January is about half way through took some pictures of my December 2013, 2014 stitching.

I have taken time to re-organize and divided my projects into three groups.  1. The WIPS I will never finish, and have to desire to anyway.  The time to stitch that project is long passed.
2. The WIPS from way back, I really do want to finish - even though my stitching preferences have changed, I still want to complete those projects as it does have a special place in my heart.
3.  The WIPS I have started not so long ago - because those I still have the urge to complete.

I do have three stick fast goals for 2014.
1.  Work on Bothy Threads Cut Thru Garden Shed on Mondays.
2.  Try to complete (and finish to hang somewhere) 12 smalls.
3.  To finish my Lizzie Kate Snow Guys and Belles.

The Monday SAL latest picture is here.  I pulled that out and worked a bit last night.  The changes may seem minor but it was a wonderful feeling to pick this up again.  I double checked over at Deb's blog to make sure it was continuing in 2014 and it is!!!!!!  I am not joining any new SALs until I finish my Snow Guys and Belles.

Very Old WIP - Selected to finish in 2014

Precious Moments - Very Old WIP - Started 1990 Maybe - Selected to Finish in 2014.
The last three -Coffee Shop and the Apple Sampler and my Precious Moments, well those are charts I have actually worked on over the past two months - and these are the most updated pictures. My Precious is sideways, I will make sure he is sitting up straight my next update.  These are three projects I am so very close to finishing, which is why I started to work on these first.  I know some people can have so many WIPS and not get flustered.  I have decided, I am not one of those.

I am seriously going to try to limit my "New Starts" to my Smalls - ornaments - unless I finish a larger project.  Only because that is what is GOOD for Me.

Hope to blog more, read more blogs and stitch more in the upcoming months...

Halloween 2025 Update So it has been a couple of months - and I basically learned a lot about how I waste time for one thing, but I also r...
