Theme-Tas-Stitch May is Monochrome
This is my Monochrome May stitching. I am following a wonderful Monthly Themed Stitch Along Theme-Tas_Stitch sponsored by Kelly over at Ranblings of a Biscornu Addict. I have one small project to share. But let me tell you.
It was a little bit of a challenge, and was super glad I stitched this with Orange - so bright - it was very easy to rip out over and over and over again.
UGH!. What I have learned. I need patience to do this hardanger stitching. This is a floss tube video Hardanger Along I am doing on line with Stitching With A Smile And Yes I should have done the tutorials she has provided for all of us first. But she is a wonderful instructor. Amazing.
I am so use to adjusting for all of my mistakes in my cross stitching this was a bit of a challenge. I still somewhere have made a little mistake, but I swear I am not taking this out again. Just going with the flow.
But this is me doing one of my goals - Learn new Stitches - for 2017. I know I will be stitching more things like this because, I am sure once I get this figured out I will love it.

April Check In - Theme-tas-Stitch
I am having so much fun this year with my Theme-tas-Stitch SAL hosted by Kerry. The theme this month was water.
Link to Earlier Post April Water Stitching
I also had one more Finish - started during March Madness I am including in my April Showers stitching.
This is sideways. I will finish it with the bird standing up. I figured the first thing needed after planting is watering and all the trees, and vines and flowers need a lot of rain. So I reached out and felt this would also work for the April theme.

This will be a Christmas Gift for my daughter - brand new mom of a baby girl. It is also works for My Memories of Mom - her garden was amazing. We spent hours of our Summer Vacation weeding. I always tried to get out of it by telling her I didn't know the difference between the weeds and the flowers and she would always tell me that was okay, but wouldn't I feel very sad if I cut short the life of a flower. Thanks Mom!.
Next month May is Monochrome. I am going to do a lot of Brown/Gold stitching. I plan on working on several wips with shades of brown.

April Update
April Showers. OR any project with water. This is the theme for Aprils Theme Tas Stitch monthly SAL For the first week of this month - I was all about this theme, as it either rained or snowed just about every day so far in April. I hope to have a few more Rainy stitching by the 21st but I do want to finish Woneta, 4 calling birds, and a couple other WIPS.
I finished my Puddle Dancer by HandsBlessing. I am giving this to my daughter who dances in the Summer Rain all the time. But I have to do it again to keep for me.
I had a new start finish my I love New York - Yankees. I left out the word Yankees Because I don't think this CloudsFactory chart needs it.. This post would be all about baseball if I spent anymore time explaining. But my mom who would have been 90 this year - loved, loved, loved listening to the Yankees on the Radio - every, every game all summer long. Her love of the game and the team was passed down to all of my siblings and grandkids It was a warm and fuzzy project. I am going to find a couple of buttons to add instead. I choose many of my projects as if I am still stitching gifts for her. Oh wait a minute - what does have to do with rain... Because the worse thing that happens while listening to baseball on the radio is RAIN DELAYS
This is the cake my Baker Daughter made for me for my birthday a couple of years ago . Summer stitching is best while listening to baseball on the Radio
Below is my Finish of Springology As I mentioned in a previous post I am only stitching two squares And they are finished. And of course we have our great rain boots and umbrella.

First March Check In
I had a great February Stitching Month. These are all my finishes. There are two additional Smalls I am sharing for the first time. JBW Designs Spring Basket I completed with the left over floss from my Spring project - because it was stitched 2 over 2 on 25 ct purple, it really is much larger than I expected. The pink Easter Egg fabric is a shade of green.
Something to share on Cross Stitch. But just have to.
Locally every Tuesday our law enforcement agencies issue a press release regarding a cold case. This past Tuesday this was my brother. I am sharing the links because I have to. I have to continue to share on all my social media things. So the following links are all about the case. I have saved this to the end, because I am not sharing this for one reason, it makes me feel better. Interview re brother and First Article after Press Release
I have jumped back and forth with trying to plan just what Madness will be happening in My March Stitching. I have added a few stitches to my year of WIP piece Woneta by Amy Bruecken, I have a new start Puddle Dancer from Hand Blessings and I did start 12 days of Christmas, in Cross Stitch and Needlework January 2014. I am stitching from stash. So many new projects will start on different shades and stitch counts and fabrics. I have frogged all of my progress on 12 days because I will not survive stitching it on the fabric I choose. So I will restart it next week.
I am planning on several new starts in the Month of March. But not sure which ones will make the final cut - I will share as I stitch.
Daughter #3 loves to play in the Rain. Especially in the Summer when everyone is running for cover, she is dancing. I am stitching this on, I think, 14 ct while aida in her favorite color purple DMC 154

| Woneta - When I pulled this out to stitch on I had completed half of the black cat and the arm and hand holding the cat. |

Successful Stitching February
Focus on a Finish in February Theme-tas-stitch 2017
Success - Here is my Easter Egg Finish. I had a bunch of extra stitching time this month - I came down with something I couldn't shake, and was out of work for three days. I really to love it when I am too sick for work, but not too sick to stitch. This is one of the first projects I started on evenweave, I think I started this sometime after March 2009 - this is the issue of Cross Stitch and Needlework this chart appeared in. The designer is Ursula Michaels. This is one of my Year Of Wips projects - 8 completed now. Working on these older projects is wearing on me of late - so I am going to switch gears for the month of March. The theme for March Madness - stitch on many many things, so I am going to start a few of the "bigger projects" on my Want To Do List.
This next finish is a freebie - Elizabeth Designs, given to me at my LNS. It is totally stitched from stash - the fabric - you can't tell I think is 14 count Minty Green aida. Oh my goodness, I have had this aida a very long time. The thread is from Fiberlicious Yummy Fibers It is called Berry Bouquet. Living with the stripes, the colors are really do look like Spring to me.
Then I started and Finished Luck be With you, HomeSpun. This was in my stash just waiting for me. Have a couple more February New Starts, I hope to have finished before the Small Sal check in on Friday. I hope to be able to share my plans for March Madness at that time.

1st Small Post 2017
So here is my first small finish of the year.
If you would like to join this wonderful SAL please visit Stitching Lotus. It's a wonderful way to visit some great stitching blogs too.
Yes, I found this potholder in my stash - I bet I have had it for 20 years. And this little Gingerbread dude can be found in a very old Leisure Arts Magazine. January was a great month to stitch from Stash. I am having too much fun digging through my old stuff. I am also happy, I have a fully finished object too!
I am Focusing on a Finish In February. Please click on the link and travel to Theme-Tas-Stitch 2017 SAL. I loved the monthly stitching themes, so I signed right up.
I have two finishes in my WIP - these are also two things I want to finish for my FaceBook Year of WIP Challenge. So in February I will be stitching on - Ursula Michaels Easter Basket and Papillion Creations Celtic Beauty.
I started Easter in 2012 and Celtic in 2013. I go to visit my grandkids each morning before school and to get them on the bus for their mom - I have about 1 hour to spar while I am there, so I bring stitching - Celtic Beauty will travel with me - It is a great travel stitch. It would be wonderful if I could finish both of these - but I have not one true Easter design and so few Spring Designs I really would like to be able to display this finish before Easter 2017. I will be pushing it.
End of Stitching. And I just have a few pictures to show you from the March On Washington. Hats off to all of the Sister Marches - Double Hats off to all of those International Women who also marched in their support. I marched for the women who wanted to be there and could not - I am in no means suggesting all women felt the need to march.
This march was Empowering. And I believe this experience has changed my life.
