Happy New Year

Stitching Update

I did not finish all of my December goals, but it would be a very strange thing if I had.  I did finish my 2nd Snow Belle - Baby it's cold outside, which was my number one goal.

I am very happy with my progress on Winter by Sue Hillis.  I am so close to being finished, so I hope to be able to finish that off by end of January - but not sure with the 2013 Crazy Cross Stitch Challenge, but stranger things have happened.

I worked a tiny bit on Santa's Village - and on my other Christmas piece, Santa may sit for quite awhile before he comes out again - but being that Santa's Village is a SAL, and the 2nd part has been released, I will be working a little on it in the month to come.

2013 Cross Stitch Challenge - 15 Starts in 15 Days, Day 1 - This is a very old chart - from this late 80's early 90's publication.  I have a better picture on my Challenge Page.  I have decided to do this on black - with DMC 3844 - It looks pretty good - I hope to be able to get a better picture next time.

My January Goals - to work on 15 different projects one different for each of the first 15 days of January.  Some of these will be left overs from other years.  AND
To finish my Next Snow person

Peace to All.  I hope this new year brings peace and wonderful blessings to all.

Fat Men Snow Belle SAL -- December 1

Here he is, my first WIP PIC for my first Blogging SAL Event.  Isn't he just awesome - incredible.  No Beads yet. so the bunny is missing his tail - however, my FAT GUY( Lizzie Kate) is the best.  I started with this one, Snow Friends - and he is finished.  I am not sure where I will go from here.  We will see.

This is my first update of Christmas Is - Waxing Moon Designs.  New Start in November.  And then I have an update on It's Winter,Sue Hillis Designs.

I have a new start for December, Country Cottage Needleworks Santa's Village which is another SAL for 2013.

My Stitching Goals for the month of December are:

1.  Finish Snow Person Number 2 for my FMandSB SAL
2.  Finish Santa's Village Number 1
3.  Finish Christmas Is
4. Finish Winter

I believe setting goals is great - way to stay focused and keep your eye on the prize.  This month is a tough one for stitching, with all the holiday going ons, however, when something that is so relaxing and stress relieving as stitching is, this is the time of the year where it is most needed.

Sick Day

So I got the flu, I did not have the flu shot, and wouldn't you know it, I got the flu.  Did not go to work today, instead went to the Doctors.  1 hour and half at the doctors office, which I guess is not that bad, then another hour of course to pick up the prescriptions, I have something in the lungs, so there is antibiotics and an inhaler.  And the doctor told me to make sure I wear a hat.  No doctor has ever said that before, so I did think that was a little interesting.

Stitching Update

Winter - Sue Hillis, update.  Sorry the picture is so dark.  Also worked on my Snow Friends (SAL) but I will not be showing those pictures until December 1
 Mail Received
Final Thread for my Witches Pantry, Cyndi, Beach Cottage Stitchers, when I ordered my Witch's Pantry, she was short one thread, so sent it off to me and received yesterday.  Do you know what was very nice - the hand written note, from the owner, wishing me luck on my stitching, and making sure we were all okay here because of Sandy... Some special Customer Service for sure.

My order from 123Stitch also arrived.  I can't say I have any one favorite Needlework Store.  I do try to buy local, but sometimes the online deals are hard to pass up.  I needed one more Fat Guy for my Collage, and because I never can order just one, I also purchased this great One Color Design.  Reminds me of my daughter, she is a Teddy Bear Lover.

And this is Cleveland, my wonderful cat.  He is keeping me company while I am sick.  Most of the time Dakota is with us.

Time for me to take my meds and I am very tired.  Enjoy

A Finish.... So Happy

True Love II
I am so happy - I have had so little time to stitch this month, but I decided I was going to finish something and SO HAPPY I DID.

I will be working next week on Fancy Dancing - I am babysitting this weekend, and I am at a spot where I can stitch big areas of all the same color for the background and this will be great for me not to lose my place.  Also the HAED SAL for this week is America, so I can join in there with this one.

Also I will be working on the above Non HAED. Sue Hillis Designs. I am dividing my time each week (or at least trying to, between my HAED's and my nons).  As this also has big blocks of the same color, it will work out perfect while watching those little ones.

Memorial Day Monday - I always think about my dad, WWII vet at this time.  He was the perfect dad, and was stolen away from me at a time when I needed him the most....

Baseball tonight - local team, Triple A.  with a good friend, who doesn't undertand a thing about Baseball.  But it will be a great time.  I am so in a Baseball frame of mind.

Also Game of Thrones - finished Book 1 of Ice and Fire and I am totally hooked on this story.  I have read so many great books this year.  I stopped myself from downloading Book 2 for a week, because while I was reading book 1 I DID NOTHING ELSE....  So I have just started book 2 and Clash of Kings - I so so love my Nook...  For sure now, I am going to watch the HBO Season 1 as I have read the book...  There truely is SO MANY BOOKS, SO LITTLE TIME.  I have more books on my list to read, then I have charts on my DO NEXT cross stitch list..

Halloween 2025 Update So it has been a couple of months - and I basically learned a lot about how I waste time for one thing, but I also r...
