Easter Treasure Hunt 2017

For me, today is Good Friday.  I was taught this was a day of meditation and reflection.  We were to remember those things we did in the previous year to make this world a better place, and to think towards the next year on how to make it even a better place.  I have not really done that much as an adult because my Faith and Organized Religions often seem to be in conflict.  However today Good Friday 2017 seems the best time to think about how I can help to make this world a better place.

And the first thing I will do, O, O, O, is post a wonderful Spring Stitching Project. For the Easter Egg Hunt at Jo at Serendipitous Stitching

This is from The World of CrossStitching designer Joan Elliot (no special threads or beads, best news for me ever).  This is one of 4 Delftware Cards.  Issue 151.

This reminds me of Spring and my childhood school days.  We had recess every day rain or shine or snow or whatever, and there was no wearing pants to school.  And we jumped rope constantly.  I think it was to keep warm half the time- these kids have their coats and hats on, it has to be Spring.

So here is my Happy Spring O, is the letter, day..  Memories of childhood make me smile.

  6. Thanks for taking part in the Easter Treasure Hunt Blog Hop this year. Easter is a good time to reflect on the year, we all make New Year resolutions so maybe it's a good time to revisit them and start afresh if we've not kept them.
Love your JE piece, we did a lot of skipping as children too. Except for me, who couldn't jump in time so I was always the rope-turner. I was so popular because no-one else wanted to do that!

  15. I had never seen this pattern of Joan's, but her style is unmistakable - and you stitched it beautifully.

  16. That is so adorable! I well remember the "no pants" for girls rule, too! It wasn't until my senior year in high school that we were allowed to wear slacks... Too funny considering the very short skirts that we had been wearing :)
