Finished and More

Here it is.  Witches is finished.  I know the picture looks bumpy (uneven surface) but it is ready to be finished and hung - Way before Halloween.  I have worked steady on it for about two weeks, so that goes to show you, I really enjoyed this piece.  Have no idea what I am going to do with it next, I will let you know for sure.
Here is an update on my Fall Hangup.  This has so much backstitching, well maybe it doesn't have that much, but more than what I am use to - so I do hope this doesn't put me off course, but if it is not the backstitching, it will be for sure a new start for me.
I really do have a thing for Witches - and when I saw this on a visit to  Stitchers Garden
(much loved LNS), I could not stop thinking of it.  Even left without purchasing, but did end up going back last Saturday and HAD TO HAVE.  The ladies at the shop were kind enough to help me do somethings to make it just mine - First we switched the fabric - I am such an Orange person so the fabric is 30 ct Carrot - my goodness - Hand dyed I am pretty sure, but that small detail has left the brain - I was so intrigued by the color.  So the threads were Gloriana and we did a switch - so I have Cresent Colors Rainy Day - this is the purple, and there is a tiny bit of a purple in the band of the hat, I am going to grab part of the lighter color of Rainy day - does that make sense - and the Green is Weeks Dye Works and I am so sorry I forget the shade - but it just looks Halloweeny Witchy to me.  So here we go.  Am going to try to get a good start bit of this done over the weekend.  this is the first time ever I have just gone and done something different than the original chart says - and its a WOW for me.  Thanks to the lovely ladies at Stitchers Garden for helping - and to all of you whose blog I read, because you have inspired me.

WIP Update.

Witches Go Riding.  A finish here is going to be a reality,  I can feel it in my bones.  I am so very excited, it will be done before Halloween.. And it even looks a bit frightening.
Here is my Fall Hang Up.  Did a little bit.  I have set a finish goal on this project - it is October 15th.
Medieval Town. I spent a lot of time on the Yuku Bulletin Board, and other blogs of people who have already stitched this.  It is my first Chatelaine, and as each designer sees the world differently, so are their instructions.  All the boards I found out there, and pictures were very helpful, and so, I did get some stitching in.  This one, I found, I have to be in full concentration - it is on 28 ct over 2 - not my normal - the counting of the non stitched squares is still a learning process for me.  I have to count 4 times and stitch 1 it seems. Not complaining - at all, it is exactly what I wanted - More Stitching Knowledge.

Have found of late, my q snaps are the best - and I think a big reason is the ability to gather up the extra fabric.  Love that.  This will be a long time WIP.

Going to keep going with these three next week.  Fall and Witches are so close to the final lap.

So What's Up World, Its September

No blogging of late, even less stitching - more working and definitely more eating.  State Fair last week - I can't even begin to count the calories - I just can't help myself, I love FAIR FOOD.  We have like the biggest and oldest State Fair in the US - It is a huge event, and I live right next door.  It was the way we always ended Summer, and has too many Teenage memories I am glad my mom and dad never found out about.  Went Three times -- The Needlework and Quilts there were amazing - of course you can't take pictures in there, but WOW...

With the fair and my job, and my daughter moving into a new house, and school starting (two of my kids are teachers)  another one works in Student Activites at a College close by, the baby is still in College - and my grandkids, the new school year is an EVENT.  And September, is the time of year I do  alot of reflection, cleaning, putting the summer things away - getting out the fall stuff, set more goals now than at the New Year.  This is a season of my favorite colors, Oranges and Browns and Golds.   American Football has begun - life is good.  Just love the Fall.  BUT when I started that cleaning
Well - I just had to come across the box with all the WIPS.  Made me wonder, now why did I start these charts, to stick them in a box, half done.  I SO HAD TO HAVE THAT CHART, SO HAD TO DO IT FOR SOMEONE  - and now it is half done in a box. WOW.

For Example to my left - I can't remember the name - Designer Diane Arthurs So lets just call it Fall for now.  Cute, Simple little banner to display proudly at Thanksgiving.  Stuck in box and hidden away looking like this. So this upcoming week I will be putting in some stitches here.

On an even sadder note, this is all I stitched on my Around the World in 80. Now this is not really all I stitched. Because I have that other piece where I do all the practicing of those other stitches, which is filled with the practice stitches. I also did a whole bunch of stitches inside this heart, but found out I was off in my counting and we had to do that thing... FROG.... So I just thought, this is not the week for Around the World - must be I ate too much at the fair or something, so we put it down for a bit.

I received my order from Nordic Needle of the Metallics I needed for my Med Town SO it is up and I will be working on him.  Also back to my Witches, because before you know it, it will be October.   If you have read this far, you are wonderful.  Thank you Have a Wonderful Weekend.

August 20, 2025
