Some Finishes to Share
Well this is a year in Chalk for May -- but it is not this color fabric. I was so tired of the Gunmetal Gray fabric, we picked a completely different color scheme for May. This fabric is actually Green, like the Avocado - the inside off one. Sort of. And the floss is Chalk, and Sugar Plum (Gentle Arts). This looks really pretty - but in the picture it looks terrible. Will see if I can get a better picture over the weekend.
Here is Mr. Red Nutcracker. He is my third one complete for the year 9 more to go.
So I don't have as many choices as you would think - however I did find these handsome dudes in a very old Better Homes Cross Stitch Christmas from 1990.
I really haven't figured out any May Stitching Plans but Saturday I am taking a class at the LNS. It's a little project on 40 ct gauze. I have never used this fabric before so we will see. I will show pictures for sure.
Happy Cinco_de_Mayo day. This has become a very big celebration. I am eating Mexican food tonight and meeting friends for a sip or two. I am not quite sure why this has become a day of intense celebration, but I don't really mind having another day to take a little time out and spend with friends, good food and drink.
A couple of lovely finishes there Melinda. Hope you enjoyed the celebrations! :)
ReplyDeleteBoth finishes are lovely. I hope you had a good time with your friends.
ReplyDeleteI like your version of the year of Chalk for May. I love your nutcracker. Your finishes are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat finishes and enjoy your day with friends!
ReplyDeleteGreat finishes. Why are some fabrics so hard to photograph? Love all the different chalk board designs around.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your celebrations.
Wow! I love your nutcrackers - great find in the mag and your May year in chalk is lovely - love your colour choices.
ReplyDeleteLovely finishes!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your neat finishes:)
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely finishes. I think the May chalk one is really pretty.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely time stitching and celebrating!
sono bellissimi entrambi, mi piace molto il filato che usi
ReplyDeleteYour new colour choices for the Year in Chalk look so good, I love the Sugar Plum, a great colour.
ReplyDeleteSweet nutcracker finish. And how nice that you could find some more of these little guys in an older magazine. That's why I never throw out old magazines, who knows when I can use them again :)
Great finishes, love the red nutcracker. I sometimes have problems taking photos of certain colours especially with the electric light on.
ReplyDeleteI think your Year in Chalk looks great and good color choices you made there! Your Nutcracker looks great.
ReplyDeleteWe had tacos on Cinco de Mayo and I don't remember it being a celebration of any kind when I grew up or even when my kids were growing up; but like you - I don't mind!
I like the uniqueness of your Plant seeds of Joy. It looks nice and I love that you are "coloring outside of the lines", so to speak, and making it your own, it truly looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWill be interesting to see what you did with that 40 ct., I'll be back to visit. It's nice meeting you.
